Admission Process

Rules and Regulations

APS Agartala is established to cater to the educational requirements of the wards of Army Personnel. Admission is conducted under the following guidelines:

General Policy
  • Children of serving Army Personnel coming on transfer will not be denied admission at any time (subject to seat availability).
  • The school admits students above 5 years of age.
  • A valid Transfer Certificate (TC) from the previous institution is mandatory.
Age Limit

For Admission to Class I, the student must attain 6 years of age on or before 31st March of the academic year.

No provisional admission is permitted under any circumstances.

Priorities of Admission

I Children of serving Army personnel (inc. DSC), Army widows, and TA personnel (min. 5 years embodied service).
II Children of Ex-Army personnel retired with pension and retired WTLO with pension.
III Children of serving Air Force, Naval, and Coast Guard personnel.
IV Children of retired Air Force, Naval, and Coast Guard personnel.
V Children of Ex-Army personnel who left service with less than 10 years (not categorized as ESM).
VI Children of civilian paid out of Defence Estimates, CAPF, Assam Rifles, MES, GREF.
VII Grandchildren of serving/retired Army personnel. Others follow.

Admission Test Roadmap

Class I

No written test. Only personal interaction with the child.

Classes II to V

Composite Paper (2 hours): English, Hindi, and Mathematics.

Classes VI to VIII

Composite Paper (2 hours): English, Hindi, Maths, and Science.

Registration

Registration typically opens in the first week of February. Duly filled forms must be submitted before the closing date. Entrance exam schedules will be posted on the school notice board.

Proof of Age

Defence Personnel: Part II order extract attested by the CO. Civilian: Birth certificates from Municipalities, Village Panchayats, or Military/Civilian Hospitals.
